Bellowing Echoes Next Wave Festival 2012

Bellowing Echoes

Bellowing Echoes explores the stories left behind, the truths untold, and uncovers our immortal need for connection to place and community. Hosted by Gertrude Contemporary, leading artists draw upon a local 1838 narrative to guide us through a temporal wanderlust of immersive installation and process-orientated works, to a place where time is unhinged and our realities transformed.

Parallel to the exhibition sits a reinvented 2012 Port Phillip Gazette and an evening of spoken work and performance that features responses to fictional truths, failures and connections in Australian history and landscape. Follow the Bellowing Echoes as they resound around a place of familiarity, the unknown and the unimagined.
